About SourceBinder
SourceBinder (Binder) is a node-based visual framework for easy prototyping and real-time tuning of Flash based visual applications.
In Binder you connect fragments of program codes to each other, and build your application as a network out of them. The code fragments can be anything from functions, classes to even complete applications. Code fragments are compiled just once, connecting and parameterization is done in realtime.
The toolbox of the framework, which is a categorized shelf containing the nodes as building blocks, is shared among the users. Newly created public nodes gets immediately part of the system and will be available to the other users as well.
This makes code reusing as simple as dragging and connecting of the required node to your application.
The potential of the whole framework comes out of the numberless amount of libraries made by the open source Flash community. Just imagine a framework where you can easily combine regular flash stuff, 3d, physics simulation, tweening, particles, visual effects and a lot more.
So there is this infinitely extensible system, which looks to be a great tool for developers because they don’t have to deal with programing problems that were already solved by others, but at the same time serving as a realtime, node based environment, it gets just an ideal tool for designers and program architects as well.
SourceBinder is an open source project by Visual MINDS and is currently in private alpha stage. While waiting for your invitation, take a look at our former project, FlashFilterLab.com.
